In April 2003, The Father's Touch Ministries (FTM) founded a children's home in Igoma Village, just outside the large city of Mwanza situated on the shore of Lake Victoria in Tanzania. Starting with 16 children, the Children's Center quickly grew to care for about 25 resident children and also gave partial support (school fees, etc) for several more. You'll find pictures and stories from some of our visits to Igoma in the mission trip reports we have archived for your convenience. Click here to view the Mission Reports archive.
In the summer of 2006, an exciting ministry was birthed through our friends Stephanie and Dominic Sposeto, with the vision of expanding our Children's Home and helping train and support local businessmen in the establishment of micro-businesses that would help support the children on an ongoing basis. Breath of Heaven Ministries (BOHM) supported the children in this home and helped start small local businesses, established a fish pond for food and financial support, as well as financed the digging of two water wells in the area and helped several more children with their school fees. Now, most of the children have gone on to attend secondary school and some are hoping to begin their college educations. We recently visited Igoma Village in November of 2010 and identified three young men who were raised at the Children's Home and whom we would like to support with further education. If you would like to partner with us in this much-needed assistance, please contact us at kingskids@fatherstouch.org.

Our mission teams often visit another wonderful ministry to orphans, located in Kampala, founded by good friends of ours in British Columbia. Uganda Jesus Village [UJV] is home to over 60 orphans rescued from the war-torn northern region of Uganda, and was directed until 2009 by Luke and Suzanne Jones from Abbotsford, B.C., who sold their house and moved with their four young boys to Kampala in 2006. The incredible transformation of the UJV children is inspiring to many visitors who pass through their compound to bring supplies, toys, and most of all, lots of love to these amazing survivors who now all love Jesus passionately! Several of the older children are becoming very powerful evangelists and FTM is in the process of establishing the Young Evangelist Support (Y.E.S.) fund to help them grow in their gifting and receive solid biblical training in East Africa. You can find out more about this wonderful ministry by visiting their blog at: UJV Blog. The Children's Home at UJV is currently supervised by Streams of Life Church in Kampala, under the leadership of Pastor Gerald Mwebe who originally founded the UJV. If you would like to donate in support of this important outreach to orphans, please visit our Partner page and scroll to the Orphans section. At least 90% of your donation will be forwarded to the UJV account in Kampala, while no more than 10% will be used to help defer the costs of administrating these funds and to grow our Y.E.S. fund for the young evangelists at UJV.
Kenya, East Africa
The Father's Touch Ministries is planning to partner with Logos Ministry for Orthodox Renewal in Kakamega (western region) to finish the construction of a wonderful Children's Home that was begun with the help of Breath of Heaven Ministries in California. At this Center we will help care for 100 children from the 42 tribes that are found in Kenya. One purpose of selecting children from all the different tribal backgrounds is to help promote unity across tribal boundaries. As the children grow in a loving environment and learn the value of Christlike behavior toward one another, they will be much better able to help tear down the walls that have kept different tribes at odds for centuries. Check back soon for more information about this home and others being planned for the northern region of Kenya.
